The Postgraduate Environment Network (PEN) was formed at the University of Melbourne in March 2006, and is affiliated with the Graduate Student Association (GSA).

Many postgrads with an interest in sustainability are studying part time, or are in different departments or disciplines and don't often get the chance to meet one another.  PEN helps these students come together to share ideas, network and support each other. As well as facilitating stronger networks on campus, PEN also seeks to promote awareness of environmental issues in the wider community via its various activities and projects.

PEN's core membership is made up of postgrads and alumni, however anyone is welcome to participate. We hold weekly meetings on campus; feel free to drop in and get a feel for what we are up to. PEN also organises regular social events, as well as running forums and other activities throughout semester. PEN is as strong as the individuals that make the decision to get involved; track us down and join the crew!
